Biography
I was born in San Francisco, but grew up outside of Annapolis, Maryland, Richland Washington and Denver, Colorado. I went to college at the University of Northern Colorado receiving a BA in Sociology/Anthropology. I then entered the Peace Corps and served on Saipan in the Northern Marianas islands where I taught Elementary Science and adapted curriculum to local needs. I then went to graduate school at the State University of New York in Albany where I received an MS in Education focusing on curriculum development for adult education. I moved to Wyoming and worked for a non-profit and the State of Wyoming. In 1981, I went to work on the Space Shuttle program in New Orleans, Louisiana for large Federal contractor as a Contracts Specialist. I progressed with my career supporting numerous federal agencies as an employee of a large federal contractor. I retired in 2009 and then worked as a consultant for several different businesses, large and small. During this time, I also served as a Virtual Peace Corps participant supporting a Woman’s Non-Profit with developing a Business Plan, a South African tribe in developing effective grant applications, Ukraine non profit developing capture strategies and grant applications and a Ethiopian non-profit writing grant applications. I live outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and have two grown children: a son who is a Mechanical Engineer and a daughter who is a cyber security expert. I have been active in my community and have served as a board member of several local non-profits.
